A banana split near Victorville, CA

Beat the heat by treating yourself and your family to some great ice cream. Here in Victorville, CA, we have lots of great places to choose from. In fact, we’ve put together a list of a few of our favorites. So go ahead and indulge yourself!

1. The Thirsty Cactus

The creations here are sure to impress. From bowls to banana splits and smoothies to cones, you’ll find something for everyone. We recommend their raspados, a form of shaved ice. They come in flavors like the chimango, which is made with fresh fruit. You can also try the churros, the “Tostilocos” or the banana split. Don’t let its unassuming storefront deter you as that’s often where you’ll find the best hidden gems. You won’t be disappointed here at The Thirsty Cactus.

They are open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Find them at 14400 Bear Valley Rd.

2. sweetFrog

You’ll find that this simple establishment offers a wide selection of flavors. Frozen yogurt is their specialty, but you’ll also find sorbets and gelato. Flavors include pumpkin bread batter, New York cheesecake, coffee, Irish cream, strawberry banana, yellow cake batter, cookies and cream, Asian green tea, salted caramel popcorn, blue cotton candy, creamy mint cookie, Dutch apple dumpling, and peppermint stick which is only a start!

Their options range from sugar-free, low-fat, nonfat, and to dairy-free. Stop by any day of the week between noon and 10 p.m. They are at 12274 Palmdale Rd. Ste. 101.

3. Ravin’s Donuts & Ice Cream

If you’re looking for some of the best milkshakes in town, then you’ve found your place. Try the java chip, chocolate mint, coconut, horchata, vanilla bean, Thai tea, or watermelon. You can also order a single, double, or triple scoop in a variety of flavors. If you’ve got kids or are a kid at heart, they have flavors like the bubble gum or cotton candy. Their shaved ice is another cool option with many flavors to choose from. We personally recommend getting a root beer float.

If you’re hungry, they also offer quick lunch choices, such as a ham and cheese croissant or a bagel sandwich. This counter-service venue is packed with friendly staff and affordable prices. They are open seven days a week from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m., and they are located at 14664 7th St.
